چکیده
Nowadays, the geotechnical design trend is increasingly heading towards serviceability limit state. However, current practice in of geosynthetic reinforced soil (GRS) walls mostly relies on ultimate Commonly available software programs provide typical factor safety values against various failure modes. With increasing height and variability GRS walls, deformation characteristics also become an important parameter design. In this paper, expression has been developed to predict horizontal a wall using set data obtained from about sixty-four finite element model configurations. The includes wall-height, internal friction angle elastic modulus backfill, length, spacing stiffness reinforcements. It found out that all these parameters contribute displacement wall. addition, some comparisons have made reveal influence each individual

متن کاملA Parametric Study of the Behavior of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Slopes
This paper presents the results of a number of computations using the 2D FEM to show the effects of significant variables on the behavior of geosynthetically reinforced earth slopes. The verification and reliability of the results are primarily examined through comparisons with experimental data available. The results seem to be quite acceptable and can be used with a high degree of reliability...
متن کاملSeismic stability of reinforced-soil wall by pseudo-dynamic method
Determination of the internal stability of reinforced soil walls under earthquake conditions is an important part of seismic design. The horizontal method of slices is used for determining internal stability or for tieback analysis of the reinforced soil wall. A pseudo-dynamic method is adopted in the present analysis, which considers the effect of phase difference in both the shear and primary...
متن کاملGeosynthetic Materials and its Properties for Reinforced Earth Structures
The national planners have put infrastructures development on priority. This has resulted in transport planning widening of National Highway and new roads in country. Thus work of Retaining Earth (RE) structures/ slopes will be going to design in very large numbers over different areas. The availability of backfill material compatible with geosynthetics reinforcements and economy in both has be...
متن کاملSimplified Procedure to Evaluate Earthquake-induced Residual Displacement of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Retaining Walls
Based on a series of shaking table model tests, it was found that the eŠects of 1) subsoil and backˆll deformation, 2) failure plane formation in backˆll, and 3) pullout resistance mobilized by the reinforcements on the seismic behaviors of the geosynthetic reinforced soil retaining walls (GRS walls) were signiˆcant. These eŠects cannot be taken into account in the conventional pseudo-static ba...
